Dermaplane

What is Dermaplane?

Dermaplaning is a manual, non-invasive exfoliation procedure that uses a special scalpel blade to remove the top layers of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair.

Will my hair grow back thicker and/or faster after dermaplane?

Despite this common misconception, the hair will not grow back thicker.

What is the difference between dermaplaning and microdermabrasion?

Dermaplaning and microdermabrasion are both methods of manual exfoliation. The main difference is that dermaplaning removes vellus hair (“peach fuzz”) and microdermabrasion does not.

Am I a good candidate?

Dermaplaning is a rejuvenating option for most skin types, leaving the complexion brighter and healthier. However, it is best for patients with active acne breakouts to wait until it clears up before dermaplaning.
