Pre-Treatment Instructions
- Stop using retinols or active skincare at least 3 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. Any sun exposure will result in a delay of treatment.
Post care instructions
- Your treatment provider will apply post-procedure skin care to help smooth, calm and protect the skin. Continue to use it for 4 days. Active skincare can be resumed again after 4 days.
- With clean hands, use a soothing cleanser or water to cleanse your face twice daily.
- Continue to apply and reapply a chemical free SPF, at least 30+
Things to Avoid
- Avoid any anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation.
- Avoid vigorously rubbing the skin after treatment.
- Avoid undergoing laser treatments, chemical peels, waxing, the use of depilatories or microdermabrasion for 3-4 weeks after treatment.
- Avoid exfoliants such as AHA's, Retin A, glycolic acids or any other exfoliating agents for 5 days.
- Avoid products that contain ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Growth Factors for 24 hours
- Avoid using any unapproved skin care products for the first 4 days.
- No tanning beds or sun exposure for at least 14 days
- No swimming/sauna for at least 24 hours post treatment.
- No strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post treatment.
Post treatment symptoms
- Redness is to be expected. You may look as though you have a moderate to severe sunburn and your skin will feel warm, stingy and tighter than usual. This is normal and will subside after 1 to 2 hours. It can recover within the same day or 24 hours with an appearance of abrasions in minimal areas.
Your Next Appointment
- Please return to the clinic after 4-6 weeks for your follow up appointment/next treatment and follow up photos.
When you should call us
- Report to the office if you persist in feeling itchy, or find swelling, redness, bruises, or other medical conditions from the treated areas.
