The two chief complaints: Tummy and booty.
For the tummy:
*Get fitted for the right bra! Lifting the girls will give you a smaller looking waist and make you look longer and leaner.
*If the upper half of your body is larger/wider than your lower, wear darker colors on top. This doesn't necessarily mean wearing dark colors, just DARKER THAN the bottom. Dark colors recede; light colors advance.
*Bypass the waist or try an empire waist.
*Try ruching or diagonal stripes to look slimmer and taller.
*Find longer tops or tunics that fit in the arms and chest while skimming over the tummy, drawing the viewers eye to the face. Think of fabrics with a graceful drape.
*Monochromatic head to toe looks are slimming and sophisticated.
*Look for flat front skirts and pants with a wide waistband. Avoid anything with pleats.
For the booty:
*Straight-legged, boot cut or relaxed (not baggy) pants will soften the backside. Avoid anything form fitting or tight. Palazzo pants are an awesome choice and never go out of style.
*Kimonos, A-line skirts, and shirt dresses are other wonderful alternatives.
*Choose shirts and tops with 3/4 length sleeves. Sleeve length makes a vertical line across the body, ending right at the booty! A shorter sleeve will draw the eye up and away from our bottom side.
