Here are the 6 brief questions we asked Karen:
1. How long have you worked at Restoration Medical Aesthetics?
I started working with Dr. Bearden at RMA in February 2017
2. How did you get into the health/beauty business?
After working as a Registered Nurse in the acute care hospital environment for almost 25 years, I desired an opportunity to challenge myself in a new role. Working in aesthetics was a natural transition as it provides me the venue to use my years of medical knowledge and variety of clinical skills in an entirely new application. Not only does medical aesthetics provides an outlet for my creative and artistic side, it is a suitable fit for my perfectionist tendencies and drive for excellent outcomes.
The thing I like best about this job is when I exceed a client’s expectations. After a treatment and a client gazes in the mirror for the first time, her/his face will light up with excitement and awe. The positive shift in her/his confidence and demeanor is one of the most rewarding experiences for me.
4. What’s one thing that most people don’t know about your field, and you wish they did?
In the field of injectables, the specialist must have not only the technical skills, but more importantly, an eye that sees beyond the skin’s surface and the artistic ability to accurately anticipate how subtle changes to the shape of the face will enhance an individual’s inherent beauty.
5. If you could use only ONE product you carry in your product line, what would it be?
If I could only use one product carried at RMA I would choose the Oclipse Sunscreen and Primer SPF 30. Everyday use of a sunscreen is the key to maintaining healthy skin and this amazing product is non-greasy, smooth, feels light on my skin, and has just a minimal amount of pigment. Often, I use this product as a base with a little blush and finishing powder for a soft, natural, every day appearance.
6. If you didn’t work in the beauty/health field, what would you do?
If I didn’t work in this industry I think I would go through withdrawals. Not only is everything about it fun and exciting, but there are constantly new products and emerging technologies that offer seemingly limitless opportunities for continual learning.
